New York Giants Front Office Rebuild (An Overview)

Updated: Aug 10, 2022

A news story I have been following with great passion and intent is the rebuilding of the New York Giants front office. The “G Men” have hired a new General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, and a few new assistant coaches in the past couple of months.

Most of these hires have experienced numerous winning seasons with other teams in the NFL. New York Giants owners John Mara and Steve Tisch are anticipating that by bringing in a winning culture, results will follow for the Giants. These changes in their system are due to many seasons of poor performances and fans are hoping for a change.

This story is especially significant to many New York Football Giant fans around the world because it is a glimmer of hope towards change.

Joe Judge

Many fans of the team have endured poor or mediocre performances from a team that was supposed to “put a product on the field that the people of this city and region are proud of.” This was stated by former Giants Head Coach Joe Judge in his inaugural press conference with the team, before being fired two seasons later. The team was supposed to “represent this area” according to Judge, but in reality, Giants fans were anything but “proud” of their favorite football team on the field. This past season was even more painful than the one before.

During the 2020 season, the New York Giants played with strong defensive intensity and left room for improvement in the future, hoping the younger players would develop into future stars.

Unfortunately, the 2021 season was described as embarrassing and underwhelming as the defense suffered from a lack of production by the offense. Starting quarterback Daniel Jones and star wide receiver Kenny Golladay struggled to stay healthy and backups at both positions couldn’t get the job done for Big Blue.

This story has had a significant impact on me because I am a huge New York Giants fan. Ever since my father taught me the rules of football and whom to root for, I have always liked the New York Giants.

My fandom has evolved over the years, as I now have a podcast called The Giant Take: A New York Giants Podcast. I use the podcast as a space to share my thoughts and opinions with the world. I love covering the team and showed my passion through the podcast for almost two years. Being able to cover a rebuilding team with new general managers, coaches, assistant coaches, and players helps with producing more content. It allows me to write many articles covering the team, including one about the Giants Fan Fest that occurred before this football season.

Its goal was to excite fans for the upcoming season. So, with many new faces being brought into the Giants front office, many people, like myself, sit back and dream of a day when the New York Giants can once again hoist a Lombardi Trophy.
